Magic Returns to Where It All Began: Ice Castles Celebrates 15th Anniversary
Step into a frosty fairytale as Colorado once again transforms into a land of ice and wonder, where twice the magic awaits guests of all ages. The Utah-based company, Ice Castles, LLC, has partnered with Outlets at Silverthorne to once again bring dazzling winter entertainment to Summit County. “We’re so excited to return to Silverthorne, where our first commercial Ice Castles came to life. Celebrating 15 years of magic here feels like coming full circle.
We are grateful for the continued support of the Town of Silverthorne and Outlets at Silverthorne, whose partnership makes it possible to share the magic again,” said Founder Brent Christensen. “Outlets at Silverthorne, in partnership with the Town of Silverthorne, is thrilled that we have been selected as the host location for Ice Castles this winter season. We look forward to welcoming visitors from near and far to experience this magical attraction,” said Angela Andrews, Outlets at Silverthorne General Manager.
Ice Castles will also returning to Cripple Creek, CO for a third magical winter, giving guests two opportunities to experience the wonder. “We're excited to return to Cripple Creek as we've been very well received in the community and by guests from all over,” said Kyle Standifird, Ice Castles CEO.
Guests will be immersed in a world where frozen tunnels, archways, and caverns spark the imagination. The one-acre playgrounds feature towers, slides, fountains, and caves—all sculpted entirely from ice—that come alive at night with color-changing, LED lights glowing from within the walls.
Construction on both Ice Castles locations will begin in late October where a team of approximately 20 ice artisans will spend several weeks building the experience using icicles that they grow, harvest, and hand-place one-by-one. Ice Castles typically opens in late-December, depending on the weather, and remains open until early March. The Utah-based company will have a total of 5 Ice Castles locations this year. Peak season tickets to visit the frozen fortresses will be available on December 2, 2025, and can be purchased on the attraction’s website, www.icecastles.com.
